5 months off, 3 months in treatment, 25 lbs gained, back to work, heavier than ever. I'm really struggling this morning. I wanted to restrict breakfast. I hate the meal plan I'm on. I'm nervous people will say something about my weight gain. It may be more from meds than my meal plan, but it's a lot. I really wish this virus would settle down so my apartment complex would open our gym

i am so sorry you are struggling.
i am in recovery from anorexia myself,so i can relate.
i have been working outpatient with a dietician this time after many times in treatment.
i understand how difficult, challenging and triggering the weight gain is.
For me it has been hard to have given up my old coping mechanism of restriction and i ended up telling my therapist the last time i talked to him how much i miss my old life, but he reminded me how unhappy i was just a couple of months ago.
No,i am nowhere near content yet,and i struggle everyday with my meal plan.i feel like it i all i am doing is eating, but it i think we have got to remind ourselves that to be free of the disorder will in the end be worth it.
i am hoping for a more colourful life once past this than the misery of this disorder i have been living in.
i wish you all the best in your recovery.
Healing hopes.
I have kidney damage, so I couldn't have the full bypass surgery most patients get. Instead, they took out 85% of my stomach. I lost 84 pounds, which left me still a big man but no longer an obese one. Now I'm working hard at not gaining that weight back. My surgeon predicted that post-op in the first year I'd gain 10 pounds back. So far I've only gained 7 pounds back, I'm glad to say, but it's a daily struggle.
When I flew on airplanes back then, I had to ask for a seatbelt extension. For 8 years my weight caused me to have to walk on a cane. I was wearing clothes size XXXXL back then. I could never buy clothes off the rack, I had to buy them all online. Now I don't need a cane any more and I wear clothes half that size, XXL, from the new wardrobe I bought on the cheap from Goodwill. I can buy clothes off the rack, too, now. My seatbelt fits as well.
It's a daily struggle, but it's worth it. You have my total understanding and support because I certainly know how you feel, Marah, day by day.
