I know a few Yoga folks on here, hopefully they'll chime in, if not...I'm revealing the names that I can recall.
Brillante, Pageo, Sundeva ...heck, I know there is more, but these guys come to my mind first!
I'm glad you are seeing results in Yoga...more motivation to get me out there!
It really helped my head and neck, and Yoga helps to keep things symmetrical and i just can't say enough good things about it.
I tend to dissociate a lot, and yoga has been absolutely fundamental to helping me come back into myself. Like hmyers, i can't say enough good things about it.
I practice at home now. My favorite is Yoga Class with Gary Bromley. I also really like the woman who does the Dummy series. They're actually very good. She also has some shorter versions on her own which are really good. I can't remember her name off the top of my head though.
Well, I would recommend a traditional yoga center. Those have a wide variety of classes. Here, classes are as little as $10 a session. I used to buy $100 for unlimited sessions a month. That was awesome because I went over and over again all week and twice a day a couple of days a week.
Hatha yoga is very relaxing and energizing. It does a lot of stretching. There is yoga that focuses on breathing. There is yoga that focuses on strength and yoga that focuses on sweating to burn calories and give a greater stretch. I've liked most any practice at a regular center. I did NOT like the classes at gyms or at the community college (although it's so cheap to just take a class at the college). They just rushed and it didn't "feel" right. Some people like Wai Lana Yoga which is available free on PBS. I just can't get past her voice. It distracts me from practice.
Yoga will help rewire the brain. It's AWESOME for PTSD. When Carrot of Hope gets a center, part of the therapy will be yoga.
