I don't have lots of friends, what with PTSD and living alone and all. But I just found out that my best friend at the community college where I teach is going to get an award for distinguished service to the college on Tuesday. His wife wants me to be part of a surprise party to congratulate him. He is my Distance Learning aide when I teach classes to all 3 of my community college's campuses via live TV. That means he's kind of like my camera man.

Great guy. He's epileptic, so he can't drive, which is a shame because he's the most dedicated NASCAR fan ever. I got to know him by driving him back and forth to work. He and his wife met at the race track 20 years ago, so when he and I are in the car together he teaches me all about NASCAR racing. Good guy, like I said, salt of the earth. It's going to be great to see him get this award!

I wanted to thank everybody for supporting me with hugs and replies to get through the end of the school year this week. One more day tomorrow. Now this is icing on the cake. I'm so happy for my buddy from work!
