After I went through intense traumatic abuse i lost a large section of my memory. I found out it was my bodies was of shutting down to heal and then I could reboot and find ways to deal with the stress .Don't be to hard on yourself. I talked to a therapist who eventually hypnotized me to help me remember this way my memory came back as one piece instead of bits and pieces . Maybe try there good luck hugs casey

I have DID which is also known as Multiple personality disorder. I have years of my life that are "missing" both from childhood and adulthood traumas. My brain formed personalities to cope with the horrible memories. Those other personalities/alters hold all the deep dark scary stuff from me and when I'm ready to deal with them they let me know what happened and then I learn to cope with those traumatic events. Our brains are very unique and function in a really cool way. It's like we have a file cabinet up there.
What helps for me when I've realized I've lost time I start keeping a dated and time stamped journal so if it happens again I can see what was going on and what triggered my lapse in memory.
I hope things get easier for you. This place is a great place and I have found healing here along with others that know and understand what I've been through and what lies ahead.
Take care
