I have been noticing for a while quite a few of our forum members are 13 years old. Yea, right. And I am Wacky Wendy Wheezecam. Message me for a good time.
This morning it was pointed out to me that *I* am one of the forum members claiming to be 13 years old. Oops. Did I forget that when I point a finger there are three fingers pointed back at me? I suspect this is a bug from the site changes. It was easy enough to fix, but. . . Just a heads-up.
Have you graduated Junior High School yet?

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Whacky Wendy!!!.... Did we go to school together????
Jan, It is entirely possible we went to school together, but not for long. I was that kid who seldom stayed in one school for an entire semester. Wendy isn't my certified name, but I did go by "Whacky Wendy" when it suited the occasion.
Aging has meant surviving, so aging has been GOOD.
I sit on my hands, and button my lip seemingly hourly, but I also see "what could have been" constantly. They make mistakes that I'd have never have lived down.
(My very last conversation with my mother involved her reminding me of MINOR things that I'd done wrong, as though they were these huge mountains. My reply was that my son had done much worse, but that I still thought that I was incredibly lucky as a parent... The contrast was jarring. Part of me cringes at standing up for myself. Part feels like saying that probably hurt my mother in unintended ways that were pointless. And part...feels like I (me) needed it.
Like why did you (speaking to my mother) crush me and leave me suicidal over toothpaste, over a single dish, a handful of words, laughing at my own near fall...multiply all of that by dozens a day, hundreds a week, thousands a month, millions a year... Nothing was big. Death by a million cuts. And one or two or dozen, labels me as "overly sensitive", "a problem child", "ADHD", "autistic", "self centered". ...
But to be 13 and free of that...it's only imaginable because I have kids that have done it.
I'm sorry so many of you have had rough childhoods and that 13 was an unpleasant time in your life. I wasn't traumatized until I was 21, so my problems started much later.
I don't think I'd want to go back to being 13 again, but it might be great to go back to when I was 20. I would do things differently so as to prevent the crazy situation I ended up in. Maybe that would have saved me a lot of pain and suffering, who knows? Maybe I was a person that pushed myself so hard before my trauma that I was bound to run into a wall at the speed of a freight train anyway and it was only a matter of time. There are a few things I would do differently that year if I could do it again.
