Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

who told you that you were sexually assaulted? If your family knows my question would be who else knows. I think you need to speak to a therapist, plus it wouldn't matter to me what my family did , when I realized I was assaulted I went to the person who did it. But I like you were told by my mother to leave it alone it caused me extreme grief for years. My brother was the one who did it, he apologized in writing I should have kept it or printed it off. it was years ago. Because now he has told everyone I am lying and it's my word against his . My mother knew about it but refused to help and now she died. he got away with it. that has been a very hard thing to handle. I will never forgive him, but I never see my family by my choice. I wish you luck , there is always support here for you. hugs casey
You should absolutely seek professional support. You can call the hotline or text the chatline at RAINN.org. They can also direct you to resources near you. I got free therapy through them, though that's not available everywhere.
Know that that is a bookcase answer of very dysfunctional people. Do not for one min believe it. Start looking elsewhere for support not them.
It is absolutely not your fault ...... It's shameful that your family has behaved in this way
Gentle hug.....xo
It's SO not you're fault. If they can't support you & be compassionate I urge you to find it in counseling. Is it the step-brother saying that? Of course he'd say that. He's the one who violated you. If it's him saying it tell everyone who'll listen.

I know that for me, talking to someone who had experience counseling was most helpful, but some of the resources were helpful for me also.
However, my family ditched me when i told them a stranger had attacked me, so in my experience, yes your family won't believe you, will call you names and shun you.
Their reactions will make you feel awful and then you'll think they don't care and that's the end of family life.
However, your family might be healthy and capable of care and support. You know them, you make the call
