A good day?

Have you ever had such a good day that you didn’t know how to sit with yourself at the end of it. I have toddlers. It was not void of meltdowns, boo boos, messes or any other challenges. But there were many more highs than lows and I feel safe. Which is strange. I can’t control anything. I had trouble focusing a LOT. I am still spinning from the conversation the other night. But today, in and of itself, today was as close to perfect as a day can be. And I’m so incredibly thankful but also out of my element and really confused. Who can relate or explain?

Marah, my good days seem to coincide with staying in the moment and recognizing that I have no control over anything but what I am doing in that moment. I think those are the days that I pay no attention to the big challenges, nor should all over myself. Wish we had more of them. Hugs.

So glad you used the word "perfect" for your day, Marah. I don't know how to handle a perfect day, either, since the other kind has been more familiar in my experience.

So when Lou Reed wrote the song "Perfect Day" and said he didn't know how to process one, either, it made me feel like there are other people like me out there, too. Like you now, in how you talk about it here.

It's not that Lou Reed is my cup of tea or another, it's just that he said it for me.

It's an odd feeling to get used to bad days and then have a perfect one. It's like finding a unicorn grazing in your back yard one morning or something. Thanks for speaking up about it, and good for you for having a day like that!
