I worked my way up career ladders twice only to jump off and start over, because of what I now realize was the way I interacted with people due to my PTSD. I don't do well with aggressive people particularly, and when you get to a certain level, you are expected to be aggressive.
I have often thought of going back to the first place I left and explaining what happened, but I can't see anything positive coming from it. The second time, I did tell my boss about PTSD when I stepped down. I felt like I was throwing it out there as an excuse, and felt bad about it at the time, but looking back, I realize it was simply the truth, and I was better for having left that job.
Try to visualize telling your old coworkers the truth. Would it be helpful? (I guess it depends on your relationship with them.) How do you think they'd react? Would they look at you differently? In a good way or bad?
Going through the conversation in your head can help you determine whether you would benefit from really talking to them about it or not. If you wouldn't, it may help you see that and feel better about letting it go.
I wish you all the best.
