Best wishes on your road to recovery, and welcome to the group.
It's perfectly normal to be afraid of dying. The people who climb cliffs without climbing gear are the ones who are messed up. Don't be ashamed of what you are feeling, your first experience of death is bound to be very unsettling. Your reaction to it is just your being human.
Give yourself time, it will pass.
i know that for myself i had strange fears, fears i never had so strong;y when my ptsd was high. just like death, im having a heary attack...
at first i was sure it had to do with some past truama. it HAD to be, if it was not a reaction to a specific trauma in my head (then) i would have been crazy. Now i know that that fear had little to do with a traumatic experience with death but awas an overal anxiety reaction of the many i had.
that was my experience, urs can diffidently be from urs with ur grandfathers death, only you can tell.
Hugs!!
