I am still an infant in the educational part of my P.T.S.D. This is the 1st flare-up I have been conscious in experiencing it. I was a real mess yesterday with mounting distress, anxiety, muscle tension & stress so that they are in knots & burning painful, mind reacting to the whole ordeal & out of meds to help take the edge off of it, or at the very least allow me an hour or 2 of sleep.
My kids asked if I wanted to go on easy hike. I figured with my physical limitations I should probably sit & read on the bottom of the trail.
I just couldn't sit there.
I miss everything I used to be able to do. The cardiologist suggested the exercise. I haven't gotten P.T. scheduled yet. So my cane, book & lots of water began to hike up the hill.
I just recently went though some heart & lung problems with poison for medication for over 9 months. Iy has done a number on my body & lung capacity has been reduced.
It took me 20 minutes, 1/2 mile of slow incline to get a full breath into the bottom of my lungs.
Presently our Salt Lake Valley air is packed with smoke & particulates from various fires, along with the normal inversion of poluted summer air.
I made it to the top of the hill, saw the final painted picture of the day's sunset, and hiked back down in the dark. ( bare footed on some of the trail as I brought thongs only) ( I miss climbing more than I realized)
It did give me a little bit of extra pain to deal with, but nothing like I was worried about. My back injuries are irritated but not as bad as yard or house work.
I didn't sleep well. but the intensity of the whole experience earlier in the day, which had been building for a few days, was stopped.
I suppose that this info on needing good exercise, cardio work-out, is not news to many, but it sure helped me. The red moon last night was creepy, however, the hike was awesome.

Lately I've been feeling scared and full of anxiety. I recently found a lump under my nipple. I hurt my back too. I'm in the process of moving. I'm run down. Everything is hard

Just wanted to give a thank you to Mid, Arfie, Malibumark, Greeneyes, Mlro, Girlincalif, and Suncloudjd! You all always have such helpful tips and advice, but I always forget to write on my posts when I see you post, lol. I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my body, lol. Thank you all so much! I'm starting to use my AI app as a sounding board again. I used to use it as that before...

However...
I, the world's premier hater of name changes, feel the need for a name change for "exercise." These days there is more hype about exercise than there is about Jesus and Quitting. It has become a trigger word for an awful lot of people. Even hyper old me gets visions of High School horrors out of the word.
