No reason.
Sorry it happened to you too......hugs
A lot of us were born to irresposible, poor excuses of human beings and there is a lot of "evil" in the world, but when people say "God only knows why he does things" first, i'm not sure that there is a God, and frankly it would have to be a very sadistic God to let an innocent child suffer because of some "bigger" plan He had, that He was going to tell us about later.
Accidents of life, random not specific and for no reason. They do cause a lot of suffering and the people that caused should pay, but even that doesn't always happen.
hugs
There is no why, it is just random. And when I get into a mood where I think that life has been rough for me, I try to remember that so many people have it much worse.
It's just luck, the wrong place at the wrong time, and for some of us that wrong place can be the very womb in which we were created. We're just one roll in a cosmic game of craps.
But now that we have PTSD, what we do with it, that is the part that has meaning. That is the part that has direction. We can use our PTSD as a chance to learn.
It is hard, agonizingly hard, to live through PTSD. But is there any time we really learn anything new or important that isn't difficult? I don't think so.
We have to walk through such dark, frightening places when we have PTSD. We can use it to learn and grow.
I think I have learned a huge amount since I got PTSD. I learned a huge amount from having been abused and assaulted and paupered and hung out to dry. The thing is, if all this nasty crap hadn't happened to me, I would have never learned this much. I would have been WAY too chickenshit, given the choice. So it was a mandatory education.
Life gave us lemons. Fuck lemonade, let's make whiskey sours.
