Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Support Group
Find support with others who have gone through a traumatic experience. Whether you have chronic or acute PTSD, we are here for you.
Six years ago this week I posted on DS PTSD for the very first time. I came because I'd been on meds since 1985, but in 2011 kidney failure was causing my docs to remove them all. After 26 years on meds, we had no idea how I'd get through PTSD without them.
I had panic attacks just thinking about it. My fiancee broke up with me over my bad health, and sold our home out from under me, literally putting me in the street. I lost my job in 2011, and in my first year on my new job in 2012 I had so many absences on the job that my new boss sent a disability officer to my office to ask if I was going to work or go on disability.
At home, at work, all around things were not good when I came here in June of 2012.
As a group, your support took up the slack, though, of my morning and evening meds as I made a habit of coming here mornings and evenings instead. My kidney damage is permanent, but halted enough this past year to allow me to take at least one med, a med for PTSD nightmares. I'm still at that same job now that I started in 2012 and I have less absences at work now than anybody else I work with.
Thank you for six years of proving I can live with my PTSD beyond anything I ever expected.

Mornings or Nights?*You can’t say both (or neither), or add stipulations, or make substitutions- just commit and pick one of the two choices!

***I don't reply to most of your posts because of the religious issues. It's not personal...I just want you to know that.***
I too really love DS. It's gotten me through more than one crisis. I'm continually amazed by some of the supportive replies I read. Sometimes someone asks for help on something and I just have no clue as how to respond, than I read someone's reply and I'm blown away.
Hugs and peace to all, Patti

Hey, Lilly, how sweet that you remembered that cheer of mine--"go little Muji, go!" Ha!
