Take it easy. In a week the doc probably already has an increase set in your dosage. The idea is if you are calmer, you won't be as susceptable to PTSD attacks. But before you jump to 60 mg.'s, eval how you feel. They start you in a smaller dosage to work up to the larger one. It's the current " first" reponse lately. Watch for side effects. But it does help some.
If you aren't getting much from it tell your doc. This is one that needs to be weaned from. Much easier to do at 30 mgs than 60. John was on it for his cancer fallout. But it did help him face his terminal diagnosis fairly well.
Give it a try, you just might find it works brilliantly for you.
It helps with pain management as well. Often added to those being treated for RA OA and Fibro.
So it is often given in conjunction with chronic pain meds. So that there will be a reduction of those, or leveling off. Mostly by lowering the anxiety level, so they aren't dwelling on the pain.
