The complex day has passed into another complex day and... All too still fragile for confident sharing. It feels like the slightest breeze could blow things apart... Sick husband... 2 grown sons (and grandson) in motion... In-law deaths... Sorry to the newbies. I know you have none of the background details.
The up-note is that yesterday was hubs's birthday. 58. He is crowing that his son got him chicks for his birthday. 6 of 'em. All redheads. We are hoping to have VERY fresh eggs in... Hm-m-m-m... We see what grows...
Feels like a day for summaries. No time for listing all those details. Just allot of juggling.

Lately I've been feeling scared and full of anxiety. I recently found a lump under my nipple. I hurt my back too. I'm in the process of moving. I'm run down. Everything is hard

Just wanted to give a thank you to Mid, Arfie, Malibumark, Greeneyes, Mlro, Girlincalif, and Suncloudjd! You all always have such helpful tips and advice, but I always forget to write on my posts when I see you post, lol. I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my body, lol. Thank you all so much! I'm starting to use my AI app as a sounding board again. I used to use it as that before...

So... I have a moment to go on with the update...
Youngest son --the one with my grandson and his mother-- got fired. Insert colorful expletive here_____. He broke the news to hubs on Tuesday and hubs nearly had a relapse. Ended up having to cut off the phone conversation. I was lost in visions of another emergency room trip while hubs told me the news. It took a goodly the rest of the night to calm him down enough to lose the visions of that ER trip. I was only feeling marginally better about his condition when he went of to work yesterday morning. There was not we will be asked to pay the price of Youngest Son's getting fired. Our financial situation will not be able to carry the load.
When Youngest Son and his fam showed up for hubs's bday celebration, I brought them up-to-date on hubs's condition. They live in San Antonio and we had not really given them enough detail to realize that this is a life or death maintenance gig until the surgery or surgeries. The first (could be only) surgery is scheduled for Jan 16.
Girl-howdy, it was a day of intense dialogue, including the part about how we need to be filtering this for hubs. At best, he has a hole in his bile duct and a still infected gall bladder. One of the pieces of dialect was Eldest Son enjoying a brief gloat over the perfect son being in the Fuck up Role while he was in a position to be helpful. The gloat was forgivable because he quickly moved it to the part where he told them he could move out at a moment's notice if they needed to move back in. It looks like that is what is going to happen.
Prayers -by whatever name- appreciated. Methinks we will need them all.
Oh yea... The chickens seem to like the gypsy-rigged shelter Eldest Son and I tacked together for them this morning. Seem to. It is keeping them warm and dry in the drizzle, but they are still pretty bewildered by their new environment. Anybody have a clue how long before I can expect my eggs??? The hens are fully grown. I am clueless how to age an adult hen. This is my first close up run with chickens.
