Without the rest you don't feel like dealing with others either, especially the ones you can't avoid. Making it a rotten cycle. that repeats.
Right now you and wife are dealing with a lot, plus you are discouraged...that is enough to stop normal sleeping habits. If it becomes habit your brain locks on to the no people syndrome, as a comfort zone( agoraphobia). Just a habit run wild. If you see no one, then no one can mess up the day. Not very healthy for you, your wife or the children.
I am hoping you are making headway or at least inquiring for some legal help on the DHS thing. Since that can bring about a lot of stress, no sleep then too tired for anyone else's presence...until a plan is made. The "I don't want to face tomorrow, because it will be the same as today...bad."
As a younger me, I used to say tomorrow doesn't start until I fall asleep, that only made me not sleep for 3-4 days straight, the tomorrow did come. But I was even less able to handle the stress because I was too tired. About the fourth day I am giddy, nothing is serious.9BTW I like that day) Then it's like I can't sleep because I think I won't wake up paranoia
Even if you at least list what you got done, calls made, it may help to set it aside until morning. In the morning list what is the next step (call backs/ set appointments etc) and do them one at a time.. Just so you can see progress before you sleep.
There is a thing I refer to as ostrich syndrome, I will stick my head in the sand and hope it all works out. I can tell you that doesn't work either. You just end up with a mouthful of sand, still in the same place. It is in doing the little steps that has taken me the farthest, even scared as I do them. But better, once even a bit of progress made.
Here's to the little steps Sean.
We are here for support or just to blow out the pipes.
Jewells.
1) it could be because you have a stressful job or something like that. something stressful in your life and your brain has made that association with morning and waking up.
2) Anxiety may be so intense that when you wake up and you don't feel it you don't feel right and start a chain reaction of intense anxiety.
3) Fear of being late
4) It is possible to have nightmares and not remember them. This can cause stress and anxiety that seems to be for no apparent reason when you wake up. You maybe having nightmares.
5) If you are a coffee drinker you may be experiencing mild caffeine withdrawal symptoms when you wake up.
I hope you find something that is helpful to you.
