I lost everything in 2011. I had had PTSD for years, been hospitalized for it twice, divorced twice, been bankrupt. Been through a lot. Didn't know it could get worse. Then it did.
Lost my job, got another, lost my fiancee, lost my family, lost the second job I got. Then I lost my physical health, too.
Stage 4 kidney disease with diabetes made me collapse on the first day of my third job. Was taken off all my meds because of the kidney disease, so I was left exposed to all PTSD symptoms without meds for the first time ever.
TRIGGER WARNING
I'm a triple trauma winner: childhood molestation, domestically violent childhood, PTSD from combat. In other words, screwed, beaten up, and blown up. literally.
I've been here ever since every day. People here understand me. It's been slow, but I got a slice of life back. No girlfriend, no family, but a job that pays a lot less yet one I've hung on to since 2011. I'm grateful for that. Most importantly, friends here who get it and really care.
Again, so sorry you joined us because of this. Keep coming back. You're not alone.
And sooner or later we pay the price AGAIN.
It happened to me too. I do not put anything past them. Nothing I am on edge.
When they decide to unconsciously or consciously they can simply go back to their dysfunction and use compartmentalization, and all kinds of very maladaptive psychological behavior....and again the scapegoat pays the price.
