I personaly do not but I use too. I would reccomend writing down your bills when they come in and then you can pay them when you get paid. After the bills are paid then what you have left you can use on food and entirment. If you are needing to make a big purchase I would put back so much each month until I came up the amount I needed. For example lets say you have 50 for entirment I would cut that amount in half and put the 25 toward the big purchase. I would balance so much a month even if I had enough to make it all at once then I do not have to suffer all month with no money.

Dustin Hoffman was said to use a system of jars for managing money when he was a young actor in New York. He'd have a jar for rent, one for food, and so on. He got this from his father, who managed his money very well.

It's a good system, unless you're sharing your apartment with Gene Hackman, who would filch the rent and grocery money and take Dustin out drinking and carousing...LOL.

It can be hard. I seem to want to spend money when I feel blue. Good thing is i like to shop on bargains. So for me a $10 shopping spree at the dollar general might to the trick. But sometimes I just have the need to spend $100 even though I dont have it. I know I should not. I get paid 1x a month. So when I get paid, I pay a whole months of bills emidiatly. That way I do not sabitoge bills. When the money is gone...it is gone...but atleast my bills are paid.
If I need extra $$$ sometimes I do side jobs like babysitting. It's easy, fun, and helps me get through the month.

I lost all financial ability to manage my medical issues -- many complex eye issues, culminating with chemically-burned eyes -- and a congenital immune dysfunction.

Disabled and on Medicare, but ... even the co-pays and out-of-pocket ... are beyond me, now. Had to discontinue the antimicrobials and IVIG (Intravenous Immune Globulin) therapy that was ... keeping me healthy.

And ... psychotherapy ? Maybe "in crisis," but there's no money for treating the Complex PTSD and Disorder of Extreme Stress Not Otherwise Specified.

My financial losses are related to destructive relationships I tend to get in when I start to get well in my PTSD and get bored or lonely. That's when I tend to take on relationships with people who need to be "rescued" and spend my money on them. I do things like buy them a car or pay for their tuition.

They seem to be the kind of people who are just fine with that. Ha!

Being on my own, I tend to take care of things pretty well. I'm hoping to learn to be happy with getting better, so I don't go and waste those resources like that.
