Post Partum Depression Support Group
Postpartum depression (also postnatal depression) is a form of major depression which can affect women, and less frequently men, after childbirth. It is widely considered to be treatable. Studies report prevalence rates from 5% to 25%, but methodological differences among the studies make the actual prevalence rate unclear.
Good Luck!
Its 1 TBS caraway seeds to 1 cup of water. Boil water for 10 minutes than strain the seeds from the water. Let the water cool and than but some in a bottle with a pinch of sugar. It seems to help my little one a bit
Mylicon drops are helpful if it is gas, and swaddling too. Is he in a basinet? A crib is so big and ominous after being in such a tight space for his whole life, many babies wont sleep in cribs until 4 or 5 months.
Also, when you try something, if it doesn't work, don't jump too quickly from trying this to that and then the other thing, or you will overstimulate him which only perpetuates things. Try to focus on breathing deliberately and slowly, maybe sing a song that soothes YOU... the more calm you are, the more you are able to have a calming influence while you try to decode this little ones foreign language. Otherwise, he will feed off of your anxiety, and then even if he was crying because he was hungry, won't then be receptive to eat because he will then feel too anxious to realize that the solution to his original problem has arrived.
Learning to achieve and maintain your own self of calm centeredness will serve you throughout your entire motherhood adventure! But its easier said than done, of course.
By all means, if you at all feel like you could hurt your child, just put him down in a safe place and take a break, call someone, pray or cry... and forgive yourself for feeling overwhelmed.
You are going to be ok, and as much as this seems like a very long tunnel you are in... you will undoubtedly look back a year or 10 from now and wonder how it went by so fast.
Bless.
