for positive support for people with MS...just positive support....We have enough to be down about so lets help each other up....
I have been quiet here as I hve been struggling with a lot of issues. Some are ms related & others aren't.
I have been in & out of Dr's specialists etc with lots of tests etc. The neurologist I last saw who had been good was really bad last time I saw him in September he didn't even have my file so got no relevant attention. He wanted me to go into rehabilitation for 2 weeks to be assessed fully. He then referred me back to my original neurologist at Monash for that. Needless to say I didn't hear from him so rang up & made an appointment in October.
I have also been having a lot of problems with my abdomen pain & so far have had 2 colonoscopy (first one didn't work), capsule endoscopy, xrays, ultrasounds etc & so far they have said I have probably got gastritis & definitely got diverticular disease. I saw the gastroenterologist last Thursday & he said that the Doppler ultrasound confirmed that I am severely constipated & that is why my stomach is swollen. He has given me stronger medications to try to get my bowels working (that was 3 days ago) & nothing happening except still in a lot of pain. I am now waiting on a gastroscopy, on the urgent list so hope within 30 days.
Of course because I have been in pain constantly since July my ms is playing up in a variety of ways & the fatigue is through the roof & my rememberer is broken!
I have also got to have hearing aids so waiting on them next month too. Add to that incontinence is getting a lot worse so have had some accidents too. Waiting to see a gyno or continence nurse.
Work has also been difficult as due to me making errors so hanging onto my job by my teeth.
Needless to say I am confused,frustrated & fed up.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
My wife is almost always constipated too, and her incontinence is a constant problem.
Nice to hear from you again, though. I hope your employer is understanding, and can give you special consideration for the cognitive issues of MS. You will be in my prayers.

I also need new glasses as my eye sight has deteriorated a lot over the last year which didnt surprise me. We are paying them off as they are very expensive as I need transitional (go darker in sun) & also multi focal.
I have been taking movicol & zantac for 6 days now & still havent had a bowel movement. I have tried to phone the hospital but got the run around so no help there. This pain has caused my appetite to decrease, choking etc on food & nausea feeling a lot. My voice is croaky which is stress related, whenever I am sick or stressed my voice goes bad, also bad because of asthma whihc has gone nuts. It always does in spring so nothing new.
I am struggling to cope with it all as it seems to keep coming but it has to finish soon I hope.
