When my daughter was about 6 months old she was an escape artist from her car seat. My mom in law decided it was time to get her a new car seat. Well she wanted to go to Sears, but they closed in 25 mins. We lived 20 mins away. She piled us in the car and made it there in 10 mins. She got the car seat she wanted and 2 outfits for her grandaughter and one for herself. Then we stopped and got a cold soda on the way home. LOL! What a crazy ride, and lots of fun.

He repaired it & just charged me the cost of the junk yard part. About 20% of what the car dealer quoted me. I was so relieved I just thanked him and gave him the money.
Later I felt guilty that I didn't even offer him more for having done this to for me. Really I was expecting that he would do it & after it was done he would charge me more than the new car dealer. I was that relieved & I didn't say he should take something for the time he had put into it...
So I sent half the money that the new car shop had quoted to me to a local food bank as a donation in his name. I knew the food bank always sent a thank you for cash donations that are made & they did send a letter for the donation made in his name. The letter said the donation was made in his name because of the money saved on car repairs. He has the letter hanging on the bulletin board at his shop.
So I thought it was really nice of him to repair my car at cost & I feel good that the food bank got something out of it and I feel good that he got a letter that he is able to hang on the bulletin board at work
It was his money. He started it. I just kept it moving & the food bank completed the circle.
Davis - so happy that you got the scooter & also the lift chair though sorry about your loss.
Also glad to hear of the cheaper car repair & contribution to the food bank to.
All lovely stories, keep them coming please.
