Polymyositis & Dermatomyositis Support Group

Polymyositis (PM) is a type of chronic inflammation of the muscles (inflammatory myopathy) related to dermatomyositis and inclusion body myositis. The inflammation is predominantly of the endomysium in polymyositis, whereas dermatomyositis is characterized by primarily perimysial inflammation.

I can barely believe that my year-2012-that is what I titled it is almost over. I did accomplished a lot in my book. I moved, but plan to move again in Feb. I and my apt do not like each other. I need better amenities for my money. I found my church home and will start classes at the Bible in January, Amen. I was told today that the days I need to get off early for my classes have been approved. I have been spending more time with my grands and I feel that my legs are stronger. I have decreased my Prednisone to 9 mgs per day and my test have so far been good. I still have increased pain from time to time, but I still believe it is because I am healing. I have my medication cost under control. I refuse to think negatively.

So good to hear from you Brenda. Sound all like good improvements!!! Glad you are getting time with the grands!!! that is great... I have had ups and downs, but seem up at this time...

Nice to do a recap of the year. So glad you are going to Bible study and have fellowship! Time with the grads is precious! So glad you decreased pred and having positive thoughts -:)

Brenda, there is nothing more important than Bible study. I am currently doing a study of the life of Christ at my church. www.berachah.org It is amazing that Jesus was able to face the worse negativity (our sins) and pay for them on the cross so that we can have eturnal life.

We are in a negative world, but we have the Word of God to help us handle the things we face. We have a great purpose now and an even greater eturnal destiny.

I find DM to be an interesting disease that is never a dull moment. I believe that we actually help the medical profession learn more about the body.

I will put in a prayer for you to find a good place to live. It is good to hear that you are doing well. I know you will have a terrific Christmas. Keep us posted on your apartment search adventure.

You're right. It is hard to believe that 2012 is almost over. But I'm glad that it has been a year of good progress for you--although I don't envy you moving again. Yuk! I hate moving. Anyway, so glad that you will begin classes. I'm sure the Bible studies will benefit you spiritually, and studying will challenge you mentally and uplift you emotionally (the sense of satisfaction in successfully completing them). Very happy for you that you are continuing to move forward physically. I trust that 2013 will bring even more strides in healing. Continue to enjoy those grandchildren, as they will keep you young. All great news Brenda. I really admire your perserverence and positive attitude. I love that you focus on the good things that have come your way and taking things in stride.
