lately i just feel stuck. there are certain days i can pull together & try to think positive & all of that, but lately... it's just been tough.

i'm tired of my couch, i'm tired of the rash, i'm tired of not feeling like me, i'm tired of not being able to do what i want to do... it's just really hard.

usually i'm more positive than this, but since the medications don't seem to be working like they did last time it's that unknown... i'm just not sure what the doctor will want to try next. last time i was in a flare the imuran & plaquenil did amazing things for me & this time it just doesn't seem to be doing much. my doc wants me to give it a full 12 weeks before moving on to something else, but he's not saying what the something else might be & i'm thinking it's because he's not sure yet. my usually coping skills just don't seem to be enough right now.

Thank-you for your kind words. After working many years in a cancer centre and seeing all the pain and suffering that people were going through I can really say, I didn't have a clue. I felt for them, but at that time I was in good health and my priorities have changed. I must say that being sick and alone sucks. My husband was my whole life we met in public school and he was there for me in sickness and health. One day he was gone, suddenly, I now take one day at a time. I have 2 girls and one received tainted blood for the Canadian Red Cross and now suffers from Hep C and liver damage, if I let all this get to me I would surely go nuts. What else can we do, none of us knows our future. I found that worry and grief were having a bad effect on the PM. After my husband died I no longer was in remission. We all have to take care of ourselves, and try not to let things get to us, we have enough on our plate already.

I was told that I have to remain calm and try not to be tense or it would get worse.

freelee I've had Hoshimoto Thyroiditis for many years. My stupid doctor never gave it a name and I never new I had an autoimune desease. I have noticed that if you have one auto you will probably have another.

I have 3 auto immune illnesses. PM, hypothyroidism, and psoratic artheritis. You are right about if you have one, be carefull you may get another.

I am sorry for your loss Pattianne. I'm single and dealing with it alone too but it is not quite the same as losing someone you love and having to now do it alone. Please know you are not alone. We are all here and I'm sure you have friends and family to support you to. It will not be the same as your loving husband but hopefully will help you through.

I have 2 auto immune diseases and cancer myself. Yippee! :-)
