I think it is very easy to overdo it when you are having a good day. I have started doing that myself as I have started to get a little relief from the Medrol I am on. Its just so freeing to actually be able to do something that you kind of go crazy! :)

Brenda, I did the same thing when I started getting my strength back, it's just so exciting at first. I did not only get pain, but I got swelling and twitching too. Well, your thighs are talking to you and it sounds like you are listening. Just dial it back a little and remember you are still healing. As for the night sweats, I was having them worse when I was just diagnosed for about a month and now it has gotten much better. Be sure to talk to your doctor about it.

I must say I did the same thing once i was moving better and boy did I have the issues afterward. But it is a lesson to learn and now I am smarter and walk with a cane to help me, sometimes I feel odd only being 31 and having a cane but we I am trying to make it my own.

Three days later and they are still hurting and I believe that they are swollen. I just took a long soak in a tub of water as hot as I could stand it with epsom salt, but it didn't help. I was thinking that if I wrapped them in hot towels they may feel better. I am going to take it easier from now now and not take my good days as meaning that I can do more than I should.

I was just thinking yesterday that I am going to get a cane. I don't feel that age should play into it, but more about our comfort.

I have a cane. And although I don't use it everyday, I do use it in crowds or in unfamiliar places. The one I carry folds up and can be carried in a purse. That way I can pull it out if I need it, or put it back in the purse when I don't. My biggest problem is carrying a purse (which I hate to do since PM), so I often use a fanny pack or a shoulder bag over my head. Doesn't look pretty, but it works.

I was having such a hard time carrying my purse prior to my diagnose that my daughter would sometimes carry it for me when I was going up and down the stairs or in the library or somewhere where I would be trying to stand for a period time. Once I was diagnosed and released from the hospital and knew that my muscles were too weak to do anything, I started carrying a light over the back pouch that my job had send to me as a gift. I felt like someone of less intelligence to put it nicely, but I did what I had to do and let go of all vanity. I recently switched back to my purse, but carry only my wallet and very few items. I think that it is time for a new purse...lol

I want to get one of those canes with a pretty handle and nice carvings. What they use to call in the old days, a walking stick.

I just got home from TJ Maxx where I saw some really nifty "walking poles". They weren't wood but probably made of lightweight metal and were decorated with brightly colored designs. I guess walking poles are just a hipper version of walking sticks.

I have to stretch out my thighs a few times a day. I find this really helps, whether I am doing a lot or a little. As for the purse matter I am a shopaholic!!!! Kohls on-line, and in the store has a bunch of the cross body bags in a multitude of sizes and styles. It has a long strap that you put over your head and one arm through and the bag lays across your hip or you can slide it a bit to be in front of you more. I love them. One of the young girls I work with is a bit Bohemian and she always uses them. Thats what gave me the idea, and now I feel a bit younger just for using it, LOL!!! Luckybee, Marshall's and TJ Maxx are my favorite stores, I will have to stop by there on my trip to the doctor's on Tuesday. I have seen people with some really cool walking sticks and my sister has one that she purchased at a flea market years ago before she needed it. She brought it at the time because it was made out of wood with beautiful carvings and now she needs it.

My thighs are somewhat better today and I have been using my walker all day. The pain in the front of my left leg where the weakness first started is back, but not as bad and both legs are really stiff, but they are much better than they were the past few days. I am not going to push them at all. I go back to my primary doctor on Tuesday to review my lab work and hopefully can start back on Cellcept. I have been off it for the last few weeks. My Neurologist pulled me off after the fainting spell that I had one night. He wanted to make sure that I didn't have a virus or to find out if it was the Cellcept that was causing the problem.

I think it was just my body getting use to so much medication. I haven't had a fainting spell since and I am ready to get on with this journey to true recovery that I am expecting with the Cellcept. I have some traveling that I want to do.
