The swelling in my feet had gone down pretty much to normal, but left the skin a little shagging, which I felt was strange considering it was only swollen for a few days. My doctor had put me on something like lasix for 10 days. They never went completely back to normal and now they are swollen again. Not as bad as before but the left one is swollen more than the right and just above my toes. It isn't causing me any problems with my toes, but when I move my foot up it hurts a little. I have not slept sitting up again and try to stand up often while working at my desk. I also elevate my legs a lot. I have soaked them in epsom salt, which seems to help the right foot, so I have no idea why this is happening.'
I will have to email my doctor on Monday to find out what she wants me to do now.

Prednisone therapy, esp. long term, will casuse swelling in different parts of the body. My Dr. explained that facial swelling, (called moon face), a hump on your upper back, large belly are caused by redistribution of fat in the body and will go away when steroids are discontinued for a few months. Like you, my feet and ankles swell up occasionally and lasix helps keep it down. I'm not sure if feet are also a redistribution of fat or not. When my swelling is down and I walk barefoot I can feel the skin around my ankles jiggle from the sagginess left from the swelling. Best described as jello under the skin. Hot weather and over doing it walking will cause more swelling for me. Elevating your feet a foot or so over your heart helps temporarily.

TomTrump this really helps because this is just what I am experiencing. My mother had told me about the moon face. My stomach is really weird. It is sometimes soft and most times hard and round. I tell myself it is there so that I will have some place to inject my insulin because I have no other fatty areas on my body. I was wondering about the extra skin on my feet after the swelling subsides each time. It reminds me of people who have bypass surgery and have the left over skin. It is something new everyday. It makes me more humble.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
