Mom just had another checkup at Mayo and I have some GREAT news to share with all of you. Her CPK is down to 173!!! It's the high side of normal, but I'm still very happy. This is the first time in 3 years that it's been normal, I honestly never thought this day would come. She still has some problems with her lungs but the doctor thinks it's because they're trying to wean her off the prednisone. Today she's at the doctor seeing the nephrologist to see about her decreased kidney function. They think it's because she's been taking Tylenol and Meloxican for her arthritis, I really hope it's nothing too serious. With Thanksgiving just a few days away I have so much to be thankful for. I'm thankful for the doctors at Mayo that have worked their butts off trying to get this under control, as my mom has one of the most stubborn cases her doctor has seen. I'm thankful that we live in this country where such good medical treatment is available, if it wasn't, I really don't think my mom would be here. I'm also thankful for each one of you that has helped me along the way, whether with encouraging words or knowledge. I was scared when I first came here but you guys helped so much.
