Polymyositis & Dermatomyositis Support Group
Polymyositis (PM) is a type of chronic inflammation of the muscles (inflammatory myopathy) related to dermatomyositis and inclusion body myositis. The inflammation is predominantly of the endomysium in polymyositis, whereas dermatomyositis is characterized by primarily perimysial inflammation.
It seems like a good one to get for us, the treatment puts us at higher risk for getting shingles. I keep waiting for some time off treatment...

You are so correct about not living in fear because it is a waste. I do have reservations sometimes about what doctors will do, but mostly things work out fine. Do keep us posted.

Also, it's not airbourne, it's only spread by direct contact to open vesicals. If you've EVER had chicken pox and are NOW immunosuppressed, you are at risk for shingles. There is nothing you can do at this point to prevent it. Just get seen by someone within 48hrs of noticing ANYTHING rash like with "pustules"...anitvirals work better the sooner you start them.
