Polymyositis (PM) is a type of chronic inflammation of the muscles (inflammatory myopathy) related to dermatomyositis and inclusion body myositis. The inflammation is predominantly of the endomysium in polymyositis, whereas dermatomyositis is characterized by primarily perimysial inflammation.

shakiness/tremor

As i sit here and my IVIG is wearing off.. I have this AWFULLY itchy rash going on on my shoulders, arms and face... not a lot of fun.

. but I was wondering.. do any of ya'll have a shakiness when you grab something and bring it back to you (when I'm weak if I reach out to grab my drink and bring it back to me, i have the most subtle shake to my muscles).. not spacicity, not cogwheeling or anything like that, it's just strange.. my neuro just shook their head not knowing what it meant.. (nice!) .. I looked it up online and it looks like tremor can be associated with DM?

I get what i describe as a vibration ever so slight with fatigue. Inner thighs are particularly prone, biceps, and shoulders too.

It has lessened with treatment that works...

Yes, I have a slight tremor doing supination/pronation movements with my hands and when I am very fatigued or have been in the heat, I started trembling in my legs.

I get very fine tremors of the hip region and gigantic jiggles of my left shoulder.

I was pulling weeds and cleaning the back porch. It is about 96 degrees today. I went inside for a drink. My hand tremored while holding the glass of water. I still have a tremor going on now too. I never have noticed any tremors until today, and it must be the heat. I had a recent flare too. I do think some muscle weakness would play a role in the tremor.

thank you guys so much! glad to know i'm not alone on this! I'm awaiting my follow up rheumy apt.. I went too long without IVIG last month and paid for it big time.. I have realized I can't ever go more than 3 weeks without it, or no time in the near future.

Now I'm clawing my skin off - my shoulders and neck have such a srange rash and it is so so so itchy!!! My ivig is wearing off - I get it monday.. so hoepfully will get relief soon!
