Polymyositis (PM) is a type of chronic inflammation of the muscles (inflammatory myopathy) related to dermatomyositis and inclusion body myositis. The inflammation is predominantly of the endomysium in polymyositis, whereas dermatomyositis is characterized by primarily perimysial inflammation.

Lesions in mouth

Do any of y'all get "vesicles" inside your mouth? I get them when I flare, inside my lips and cheeks - they aren't coldsores or anything like that.. they are small fluid filled blisters that pop up for a few hours and then go away... they aren't ulcers either.. .sometimes they are even blood filled.. they don't hurt at all.. I feel like I am such a freak of nature sometimes!

Hi BNY. I don't get them but some people get odd things happening in their mouths from the Meds. Ask your doctor, it could also be a vitamin thing, too much or too little of something and it blows up when your immune system is under pressure. Try not to let it get you down, you are no freak just a person not too well who will get better. The 'having patience' bit is the hardest part of all this. Autumm

Hi bny806, I get the red blood filled blisters inside my cheeks. I will sometimes have the roof of my mouth get mildly inflammed and some mild bleeding in gums. Vitamin C is helpful.

I use Listerine which has been helpful for my bleeding gums. I do not want to sound like a commercial, but the Listerine is also has some fluoride and is a great germ killer too.

Thank yall so much!! I just feel like I always have such stange symptoms that the docs can't understand... I sound like a crazy person with all the strange symptoms this causes me! I will defintely try the vit C and listerine too!! Thanks! :)
