I'm glad you are getting to enjoy the grandkids. Sounds like you are doing okay with it. Look for ways you can still feel like a wonderful grandma without wearing yourself out. Simple things like having pizza delivered and eat on paper plates. Or sit on the couch or chair instead of getting on the ground. They can easily come to you.

I think it is all about how to do the things you want in a way that works for you. Enjoy the birthday party!

Oh one more thing, on days I know I'm going to be doing lots, I don't plan anything else and give myself time to rest before and after. That might help for the party.

It sounds like you are really enjoying life with your grandchildren, and I am so happy for you. I've only been to Chucky Cheese one time, and I don't think I could do it again. But if I had a 6-year-old granddaughter, I'm sure I would try. Go, and enjoy yourself. I will say a prayer that tomorrow goes well for you (and your granddaughter).

sounds like a bunch of fun Brenda. I'd recomend going late to chucky cheese and being there for the cake and food... It is loud and crowded in my town...

Thank you everyone. I am sure that it will be great and since I don't really have to do anything that I do want to, I will be able to rest once I get home if I am tired. I mainly plan to sit and hold my 8 month old granddaughter. Lexisgirl I was down on the floor, because my daughter had taken the older girls out to get a video and my little sweetie bumped her face and was crying so I was trying to soothe her. She had no idea that I may not have been able to get back up. My daughter and I cracked up laughing later when I told her about it. I am somewhat forgetful and i totally forgot that I had not been down on the floor in almost a year. But I will tell you something good that came out of it. I can now get on my knees to pray. I haven't been able to that in a year. Praying on my knees is so different than sitting on the side of my bed praying. Amen.

That is a great find from being on the floor! I love how positive you are and always looking at the cup 1/2 full. I hope you had a great time today!

The visit to Chuck-E-Cheese will be fun. That place is always a big event for children. I took my nieces to Chuck-E-Cheese to play games and eat pizza, and they had a blast.

I stopped getting on my knees to pray, but it is a good serious posture that shows respect before The Lord. I do pray at different times during the day, and I do not always think about posture. I know if I have a class of children and find that I must confess a sin (I John 1:9) then I do it quickly, eyes open, and I move forward. I will spend time in the evening after dinner with my church sick list to put in prayers for others. I also pray for the people on this site. I know The Lord listens and gives stamina, hope, and helps with different issues. People wonder why they get sick, but it is all part of God's plan to bring someone close to Him. In many ways, it also helps people know that they NEED a savior because we will all eventually die. Salvation is simple. It is simply believe that Jesus died on the cross and paid for your sins, and accept Him as your savior. Eternity in the presence of The Lord is encouraging. I also spend a lot of time memorizing scriptures. I am trying to get Ephesians memorized before I die! The other day I read through Ecclesiastes and it gave me the nice perspective that this world is all "vanity." If you want to read something that will blow your mind, read Exodus 33:18-23 where Moses got to see God's back! It is awesome. Ezekiel 10:9-22 is about angels and it is amazing. I look forward to death and meeting The Lord!

Okay, I survived Chucky E Cheese!!! I held my sweet little one the majority of the time. What makes that even more special is that in the past she would cry whenever I held her and on my past visit she laid against me and was just as sweet and she did the same today. I just love my grands and am so grateful to God that he allows me to still be here with them. I had not been around that many children in almost 20 years.

trpt1 I truly agree that God is amazing and that he allows us to endure each day, even with pain. Pain is a reminder to me that I can still feel my legs and I can also walk from one place to another. I have plans later today to take Greyhound from Tampa to Orlando. Of course when a round trip ticket costed only $2, I had to book it Yes $2. That was God's purpose that I saw that fare online. I am blessed. Oh and yes I took a nap when I got back home from the birthday party. I love life.
