Well I suspect you won't get many responses here unless you're really young lol. Well DM affected my hands and fingers alot and I couldn't play any games for a few weeks. But now it's much better.
I'm not much of a PC gamer, more Xbox but I like halo :)

but i do like wii -- u because i love all the Mario's DK's etc! :D
i would be terribly upset if i couldnt game for a few weeks :(

I'm not a gamer but my son sure is. He used to love WoW. He also loves his Xbox. At his Dad's he has an Xbox One but here, it is just the 360. 2 years ago, he took over our theater room in the basement and plays on the 55" TV. He loves that with the surround sound. Haha.

Me? I am a TV addict. I like reality TV and home decorating TV shows. I also play gaming apps on my phone like Suduko, Words with Friends and my new addiction 2048.

Hi Angelamic, I am not a gamer, but I hope you enjoy your games.

I am a big bible study person. I do not consider bible study as just getting away, or a form of escapism. I look at issues in life from a divine viewpoint where events happen as opportunities from The Lord. My knowledge of the bible and thinking about what I have learned build a nice relationship with The Lord. I listen to my pastor's DVD's and I have been trying to get Ephesian by memory.

I also like to do the following: practice my trumpet, lawn/gardening stuff, reading Ann Rule True Crime novels, oil and water color painting, feeding the birds & squirrels, watching movies particularly movies with great actors like Vincent Price, Yul Brenner, Anthony Hopkins, Kathryn Hepburn. I also like classical music.

i LOVE home decorating shows..and House hunters! i watch them all weekend long :) but it makes me wish i could get up and paint my rooms and makes me want to redesign EVERYTHING lol
trp- i want to start getting into religion. i have in the past started to educate myself on different christian religions but just always ended up off course. i was born and baptized catholic and i really want the morals and values to pass on to my future children and to help my husband and i.
i also play my flute! i got it fixed just recently and am happy i can hold it up right now and play again :)

Angela- I love all the nintendo games also but I don't have a wii-u :(
I don't have an xbox one yet but I plan on getting one very soon..maybe when the new halo comes out :D

I like to play Avabel on my android. Its sort of like WoW. Its addictive aswell, lol.
I like the Legend of Zelda Series and a few fighting games on the ps3. I adore Little Big planet too, its so cute.

I spend my time since I was just diagnosed researching this disease. By the way I'm not liking what I'm reading. :( So I think I need a break from it lol.....I spend most of my time outside of that chasing my beautiful grandchildren around. They are such dolls....I enjoy them so much but it is so hard when I'm not doing well. I have a salon that I'm only able to work one day per week and that seems too much most of the time. I do LOVE to play games but not the kind you are talking about. Mine are words with friends, scramble with friends and of course candy crush..I as well as lexisgirl love reality tv. Its so entertaining....lol I get annoyed with it but can't shut it off lol......I also enjoy spending time with friends and my husband. :)

Hi RSK. I too spent many hours searching the Internet when I was diagnosed and got very upset at what I was reading. My rheumatologist told me not to do it as everyone is different and we are not qualified to understand the medical stuff found there. He also told me that most of it was 'worst case scenario' I am now well and stable and he was right. Not a lot I read about turned out to be me. I found much more honest support which I could understand from my friends on this site . I do hope you feel better soon. It takes time and patience along with the Meds. Autumm

Was just going to ask you some questions about your story like when you were diagnosed, how long were you sick before the diagnosis, what your doctor has you on for meds and are you on a special diet....but since I'm new to this, duh, I'll just read your profile. lol

its great to know about the disease but like was already stated you cant become obsessed or overwhelmed by all the info out there.

Hi RSk. I was diagnosed in August 2012 but I believe I had this for two years before that.,all the usual things, the dreadful fatigue, difficulty going up stairs, weakness so bad I Gould not take a cap off my toothpaste. I also had pain in my right arm so bad I walked the streets at night because no med would help me.,very painful weak knees, hands swollen like sausages and painful, es evilly my thumb joints., eventually saw a young clever caring Rheumatologist at London's best and oldest teaching hospital. It took him a while to make the diagnosis as my family doctor had started me on steriods, when he had his Eureka moment he sent me for every test possible, MRI , CT scans contrast, mammogram, bone scan, lung X-ray and so much more I can't remember. He saw the inflammation in my leg bones on the MRI and the diagnosis was made from there because I also had the JO-1 antibody, he decided I had PM and did not need a muscle biopsy. He started me immediately on 60 mgs prednisone and saw or called me on a daily basis for at least a month..at the end of the month he added Imuran and told me he would be referring me to a lung specialist in the same hospital to keep a check on my lungs because of the anti JO. My only blip along the way was starting and stopping the Imuran to get the right dose which my liver could accept and live with. This took about a month.,I now see the lung specialist once a year and have lung function tests. My Rheumatologist also gave me Vitamin D with calcium and Alendronic Acid to 'protect your bones along the way' and Omerprazole to protect my stomach from everything. I finished the prednisone taper in December after fourteen long months. He then sent me for a Dexa Scan to check the bones at the end of the taper. All bones doing well so he stopped the Alendronic Acid and the calcium but must still take the vitamin D. Both he and the lung specialist agree the Imuran is 'key' to keeping the anti JO suppressed so I remain on that. I saw him recently and he is happy not to see me again until December. I was delighted when I was at the hospital when a member of his staff told me he has been made Head of the Rheumatology Dept in this old and famous place. There is life after all this, most people get better, leave the site and we don't hear from them again. I should be one of those now but I am so grateful to all who helped me in the dark and lonely days of diagnosis that I want to stay and maybe give a little back. Hope this helps. Best wishes to you. Researching this disease helps me to feel empowered. Of course, much of my research is seeking for natural remedies to help survive myositis and lupus. Just goes to show that we're all different. Here is a link to one woman's journal about dealing with PM, Reynaud's, and lung involvement. She just recently updated it. It's very encouraging and uplifting to those of us with this disease.
