Polymyositis & Dermatomyositis Support Group
Polymyositis (PM) is a type of chronic inflammation of the muscles (inflammatory myopathy) related to dermatomyositis and inclusion body myositis. The inflammation is predominantly of the endomysium in polymyositis, whereas dermatomyositis is characterized by primarily perimysial inflammation.
I know that this may seem strange, but as I have said before I have been noticing slight changes since being diagnosed with PM.
I have had memory loss since my biopsy and figure that it is due to being put under. I even talked with my doctor about it and she wasn't concerned, but yesterday and this morning I realized that either I am not dreaming or just not remembering that I have dreamed.
I have always had great dreams and I sleep very deep when I do sleep, which is also new since the surgery. Prior to the surgery I slept very light and heard everything, but it never disturbed my sleep. Now I can fall asleep in a matter of seconds and I sleep so deeply that most times I feel as if I can't wake up. I get up at least twice a night for bathroom runs, which I was also doing before, and I fall back to sleep immediately.
I just wonder if any of the meds that I am taking is stopping me from dreaming. Or is it the memory loss that is stopping from remembering the dreams. Something new everyday.

In the past I would have such good dreams that at times when I did wake up I would try to jump back into that dream. I believe that dreams are our escape into another life and have always questioned which is the dream and which is the true life. I always wondered who are those people that we dream about, if we have never seen them before. Even this morning when I got up after a good night of sleep, I didn't remember my dream.
