Polymyositis (PM) is a type of chronic inflammation of the muscles (inflammatory myopathy) related to dermatomyositis and inclusion body myositis. The inflammation is predominantly of the endomysium in polymyositis, whereas dermatomyositis is characterized by primarily perimysial inflammation.
Hello everyone. Its been a while since I have posted an update and I have 30 minutes before I have to leave to pick up my kids from school so here goes. :)
I am doing well now post-gallbladder removal on Nov. 8th. That was a rough recovery. I dont know what I expected but it sure wasnt what I got! :) I am able to eat again and am starting to put back on some of the 20 lbs I lost. I seem to be able to eat just about anything I want with no problems for the most part. We are still working to get my constiption better but I think we are on the right track. I still have some soreness in my incision areas but not bad and it is getting better.
I saw my rheumatologist about 3 weeks ago and my CK numbers were down in the normal range again which was good news. Just hope it stays that way as it tends to be a bit of a roller coaster ride with that.
I started back on my 15mg of Methotrexate injections 2 weeks ago. I am also tapering off the steroid. I was on 10 mg and then was at 5 and am now at 2.5. I am starting to feel it. I'm very tired and I also feel like the redness across my nose is darkening up. I'm not sure if I should call the doctor and maybe go back up or just wait it out and see what happens. For a while there when I was on the 10 mg I really was feeling pretty good and had quite a bit of energy. Since the taper, I'm real tired and its hard to find motivation. I remember having that problem before thought when I tapered and thats why I'm not sure if I should just tough it out another week or so and see how I'm doing then.
I would really like to get back to work part time in the new year. We have a lot of medical bills to pay and two kids in a private school who just keep growing like weeds and keep demanding things like new clothes and food. ;)

I used to put my son in private school. The tuition and parent requirements were a killer!
