Hello friends. I have been busy the past few days. I decided to go on an adventure. I love public transportation or I should say I love good public transportation. When I lived in the Orlando area and gas prices were sky high like now, I would either leave my car at home or park it at the mall near my home and take the bus to work. If I was to drive it would be an hour drive dealing with traffic congestion and a ever needy gas tank. Whereas the bus was an extra hour commute but I didn't have to fight the traffic or buy the gas. I also got my morning newspaper free and could finish it by the time I arrived at work. I was dropped off a block from my job and picked up in front of my building. I loved it. Some nights I would take the bus that took me onto Disney property and watched the fireworks while meeting new people from all over the world.
I decided to take the bus in Tampa to my diabetes appointment on Thursday. I had never taken the bus here so they have a service called Travel training, where they send a trainer out to teach you the routes and what it takes to be successful on riding the buses here. Good thing he came with me otherwise I may have been late for my appt because first I had planned to take the bus that would be going south so that I would not have to cross a major street. Wrong. I would not have been allowed to take that bus as it goes onto the military base and I don't have a pass for the base. Secondly I would have taken a different connection bus. It turned into a full day of routing as each direction required 3 buses and a total of two and a half hours each way. I did save a lot on gas and had taken the day off work for this visit. I will do it again just for the exercise. Yes I forgot to tell you that I did a lot of walking that day. I crossed the major street that my daughter has always been afraid for me to cross. I even climbed a few stairs which I haven't done in a few months. I refuse to give up. Pain and I will plan another trip somewhere within my wonder city.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...

How is everything going with you?

I wish you well on your prednisone taper. I know diabetes is a good adventure. My dad had diabetes type I and he met a lot of people who were helpful to him with his disease. You can try and control diabetes with diet. My dad had an ability to handle very high and very low blood sugars. I have too many interesting stories about dad and his adventures.
I will be having an adventure with my mother this weekend to celebrate her birthday. We will be going to look at antiques. I wish you the best and I will pray for pain management for you. Keep us posted.
