Polymyositis & Dermatomyositis Support Group
Polymyositis (PM) is a type of chronic inflammation of the muscles (inflammatory myopathy) related to dermatomyositis and inclusion body myositis. The inflammation is predominantly of the endomysium in polymyositis, whereas dermatomyositis is characterized by primarily perimysial inflammation.
Luckybee mentioned the NeilMed Sinus Rinse; I highly recommend it. Do it at least twice a day. It keeps your sinuses healthy and it flushes out germs and allergens. You can cut costs by making your own solution: for 8 oz. of lukewarm water (filtered if you can), dissolve 1/2 teaspoon of coarse non-iodized salt + 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda. No stinging guaranteed. Neil-Med is better than the traditional neti pot because you can apply as much pressure as you want by compression on the vinyl bottle.
Those who use corticosteroid sprays for sinus problem: avoid spraying on the sidewalls on the inside of nostrils; this will cause the spray to become liquid and consequently irritate them and even trickle down your throat. Remember to drink water just after spraying to flush any condensed spray.
Peppermint essential oil is good for sinuses. Make some tea and put a drop or two in your tea (it's strong) and put a drop on your finger and rub it under your chin where your glands swell up when you are sick (test on your skin first to see if it irritates you). I learned this from someone who has to use holistic remedies for everything because of severe allergies/sensitivities and it works.

Also - when I was in the ER the other night, the respiratory therapist says he adds a drop or two of peppermint oil to his mask and it keeps his sinuses cleared out. - that might be good for infection prevention.
