I am nowhere near ready to have a baby. But I am just wondering if I will ever be able to have my own children? I do not have a problem with adopting but I would like to have my own. I am meds to help with the symptoms and I have lost 30 pounds. I was 183 and I am now 153. I think losing weight has helped. My periods seem to bit more normal now. But I have been told by doctors I will never have kids and that really worries me. I am hoping within the next five years I will start having kids. I just want to see what people have gone through and see if they have had major issues having kids on their own.
Another thing is, when do you tell someone you have PCOS? My family and most of my close friends know. But when do you tell someone you are dating? I feel like its not as bad because of the meds and I am losing weight. But I feel like I should be honest with someone I am dating. I have been dating I guy I went to high school with, and he is a very sweet guy. I want to tell him but I am scared he will run away or think I am a freak. What should I do and what should I tell him? I feel like he should know, i could see myself with him for a very long time and I want him to know everything about me...the good and the bad. Should I tell him and how should I tell him? Problem is, we can't do it face to face because he is in Japan for two years(he is in the Air Force). Please give me some ideas of what I should do!
Thank you for listening. I hope you are doing well!
xoxo

Yes you will have a baby. when you are ready to start trying just try to relax and have the attitude if it happens it happens. I would tell my boyfriend about it and if he loves you and it's ment to be then he will be cool with it. Can you skype? I would tell him on skype or over the phone.

Tell your boyfriend thanks for the the service. My husband is in the Air Force aswell. As far as the baby thing.. I tried for a yr to get pregnant with my first son and had to go through fertility treatment. The fertility dr told me i'd always need help.. well needless to say I got pregnant with my second son this past sept without anything but metformin. Of course confused and delighted when I found out I was expecting again after being crushed with the news id never have kids without help.. But let me tell you from experience where there is a will there is a way! A lot of people with PCOS have weight issues. It sounds like to me in the department your ok. I lost a lot of weight with my second pregnancy and was losing weight when I got pregnant. I believe that helped me out. As far as telling your boyfriend. I told my husband I had PCOS before we got married, which is why we tried to get pregnant as soon as we were married. I think you should tell him.. You could write him and let him know what it is and how it may effect your relationship if you do decide to be together for the long run. If he runs, which I don't think he will, then he isn't for you. I do believe you will have children. Just remember that after 30 it becomes harder to get pregnant. I was told this by a DR when I was 18 and have tried to live by it. Don't be too worried about not being able to have kids though. If I believed every DR ive ever seen then I wouldn't have my son Jack.

I've known since age 16 that something wasn't right with my body due to the lack of a period for almost a year. I met my husband 2 years later and told him almost immediately- like you, I wanted to be honest because I knew he was it and he wanted a large family. He stuck out through a diagnosis of pcos and Endo and a years worth of fertility treatments. We now have 2 beautiful boys, one conceived with help and one naturally, and we are trying for a third. Thank God for docs and their knowledge but they don't know everything. Keep working on the weight loss, it will help more than anything. Like posted earlier, if you're meant to stay together, your diagnosis won't matter. I told my husband he could divorce me when we were going through treatments. I finally understood my worth to him when he told me that he married me for me, not to give him children. That was a bonus. Love him.
