Polycythemia is a condition in which there is a net increase in the total circulating erythrocyte (red blood cell) mass of the body. Nifty little thing it is too. Not all about PCOS but I have my goals down. It helps you keep track of things you want to accomplish as well as what you are doing/can do to accomplish them.
As for a food/exercise diary, I just use myfitnesspal.com. Even though they have a "community" and all that jazz, not very interested in it and I find the people on dailystrength to be nicer anyways. I've heard sparkpeople is good too, but sticking with what I know.
For myfitnesspal, you log what you eat (their database is impressive), how much you ate, the amount of time you exercised and how much water you drank that day and BAM! It comes out with a predicted number on how much you would weigh if you ate like that everyday. Changes daily of course, but it gives you a ballpark idea of how you are doing.
Currently I'm not bored, more stressed lol. I crochet, draw, read, exercise, bake, cook, stuff like that. And pinterest....so...amazing. You can find low cal, low fat recipes to try and there goes my day. I made a low cal, low fat carrot cake muffin that was out of this world.
Not sure what you mean by the last part but I will take a guess. For me, reaching my goals and having a prize was important. So far I have reached one of my goals and decided to take a trip to NYC to see the Christmas tree this year. Next goal accomplished, probably going to buy myself something from modcloth.com. Never been much of a stylish person, but you lose weight and you will become one! All depends on what excites you and keeps you going to accomplish your goal.
I'd love to help you if you want to start a diary, goals, exercise/diet help and of course PCOS. I've learned a lot about PCOS on dailystrength and the wonderful ladies sharing their info and I would have no problem sharing my knowledge with you (and I bet the other ladies wouldn't mind either....^^)
