How long are your cycles? I too, ovulated on my own, just later in the cycle. If you ovulate after day 20, then it needs to be corrected (according to my RE) b/c that usually means you have a hormonal imbalance. PCOS doesn't neccessarily mean you're getting cysts...there are many symtpoms of this disease. Mainly it's a hormonal imbalance, and many women just get enlarged ovaries and not a single cyst.

Hey my cycles range from 24 days to 33 roughly and usually ovulate around 8- 11 days.
when i read the results from my ultrasound (when i first found out i had PCOS), its says " the volume of the rigfht ovary is estimated at 13cc and the left ovary at 7cc" bla bla bla.. then...
"On the basis of ultrasound appearance polycyctic ovaries is suggested" do you think they are just enlarged??
what does that mean?
i have had a blood test to check my hormone levels and its all normal so no imbalance..
so do you have PCOS?

That is great news that you are ovulating. I have been diagnosed with PCOS, but I am not ovulating. I would talk to your ob/gyn about how frustrated you are and see what the next step is.

I was/ am having the same issue. I was ovulating, but the eggs were not actually dropping, and the times that they did they were underdeveloped or something like that. My doctor put me on clomid and we just found out that we are expecting our first in September. We had been ttc for a long time and it got to the point that I didn't want to take a pregnancy test, it was just depressing. I watched as 18 of my friends, 4 coworkers, and 3 family members became pregnant while we were trying. My DH and I had actually just filled out the paper work to begin the adoption process when we found out. I also told a couple of my friends, but none of them understood really....they all had kids really easily. Keep going you can make it through this. Praying for you!!!

I do have PCOS b/c my levels were "normal" except the ratio of LH to estrogen were high, usually an indicator of PCOS (I think it was LH to estrogen, or something like that...ugh I get all this mess jumbled). ANYHOW, they usually do an u/s to see if you have an enlarged ovary, bascially meaning it was hyperstimulated.

On the basis of ultrasound appearance polycyctic ovaries is suggested...that usually means that you have a lot of follicles, with few maturing. I'm amazed that you have such short cycles and are ovulating. Even though your ovaries may seem to indicate PCOS no other symptoms seem to. Could you get a second opinion?

I do ovulate on my own, but late in the cycle. I also have painful periods and 40-60 days cycles on my own. My doc has put me on Femara to try to make me ovulate earlier (clomid made me a mad woman haha).

I am right there with you. I ovulate on my own, but have been told that I have multiple cists on both ovaries.. all of my bloodwork came back perfect though, as did paps etc. I am as confused as you are. If we are ovulating, then why arent we pregnant?? Has your husband been tested yet? He may have low sprem count/mobility. My husband is getting tested this Friday because we feel as lost as you do. I was wondering the same thing as you, do the eggs become cists? So, when you find out, could you let me know? lol. But, it wouldnt hurt to have your hubby tested too. Good luck!

Hi, hubby got tested the same time i found out i had PCOS, results came back that his sperm are very strong and healthy, which is a really great thing!!! then if they are so strong, why arent i pregnant, which leaves me to think that my eggs are not actually dropping off even though the test shows that i am ovulating... i dont know, im confused

I find this whole thing confusing and frustrating too so you're definitely not alone on that on here. I have PCOS but I'm not ovulating, I am on metformin and it's giving me fairly regular cycles but no ovulation. As others have already said, you should speak to your Dr to see what the next step is.

Does anyone chart their BBT? If so, does the spike in temperature guarantee that you have ovulated?
