To whom this may concern,

 

I am a current year 11 student at Harvest Christian College in Kadina, South Australia.

 

For my research project I am researching Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. My research question is "What is Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and how does this define a person's life and affect their own life and the lives of the people around them?".

Would it be apprpriate for me to interview on this topic? I completely understand if it is inapprprite as this is a touchy subject and some may uncomfortable.

 

For those that are willing, if you feel uncomfortable about being interviewed after emailing me or receiving my questions it is definitely okay for you to not go ahead with this.

PCOS is a hormonal imbalance that causes us to produce more testosterone than we should is what I was told by my doctors. It definitely does affect my life more than people think it should. I was very outgoing and willing to have the spotlight on me when I was younger now when I go out all I can think about is that someone is going to notice the stubble on my face because I didn't feel like shaving that morning or will I be mistaken for a transgender AGAIN. I've been in a relationship for a year now and yes it has imapacted that as well sometimes I just don't feel feminine enough for him or like he thinks I'm disgusting or something because I have hair on my face. He doesn't understand my mood swings or depression that comes with this and it's hard sometimes. Doctors say you can lose weight and clear your PCOS up but over the years I lost 100 pounds and I'm still seeing no changes in the hair growth my voice or anything so that kind of makes me give up on any hope that this will never be apart of my life anymore. Anymore questions just ask. Oh and I've been diagnosed for 5 years now

google Whitney Thore on the Internet--she is the star of the TV show "MY Big FAt Fabulous Life" that was on the tlc channel. she had pcos which she claims was responsible for her morbid obesity--although her dreadful eating habits had a greater role in this. Still, she and her "don't discriminate against fat people--no body shame-- campaign may be a good junping off place for your research. She is on facebook too
