Just got a new doctor

I’m 17 Years old and I was diagnosed with poly cystic ovarian syndrome four years ago. I haven’t been back to my doctor since I was 14. I’m going back on six weeks to see my new doctor so I’m just nervous that since I’ve waited to long that it’s really bad and could progress in to endometrial cancer or ovarian cancer. And I still have never had my menstrul cycle ever no blood just these really bad cramps that feel like I’m being stabbed.

It's unlikely at your age, lady, esepcially since it's a genetic disease. Your immune system should still be healthy enough to keep cancers at bay. I know it's scary, and believe me, it is normal to be worried. So worried you think the worst. I'm that way too. But keep going to the doctor as needed in the future, and if you don't like this doc, then find a new one. There are several out there!

After my first cycle, I had 2 periods in one year. The following year, none. The year after that, one. After that, my mom thought it best to put me on birth control which made my world turn upside down, and eventually had to come off of it, even though I had periods, it caused depression and to cry all the time over small stuff. As I made it in to my 20s, I was still not regular, and diagnosed FINALLY at 24.
That's the short story. Better to get a check up annually then to worry. How are you doing today?

PCOS occurs because you aren't ovulating. You will only get a real period, after you've ovulated. You have multiple cysts because your ovary is producing an egg with a protective sac (cyst) around it, but it doesn't release the egg, so these cysts just stay on your ovaries, producing a new one each month. This can absolutely cause pain. I wouldn't worry about cancer, as this doesn't usually cause cancer. Many women with PCOS are unfortunately diagnosed years after the onset. You are not alone.
