I have had PCOS for a few years now. I am only 22 and my main symptom is excessive hair, especially on my face and neck. basically have a beard!
I am so embarrassed, I can barely go out in public and I am constantly checking myself in the mirror...this issue has seriously taken a toll on my self esteem!! I cannot take this anymore. I have tried laser hair removal which did NOTHING. Huge waste of money. I have to shave every day, sometimes twice a day and you can still see the hair. I have tried nair, which just burns my skin and turns my skin red and raw. tried waxing..which does nothing on my neck. I am just so fed up and frustrated.
I am taking Spirnolactone right now and birth control.
What has worked for you guys regarding facial hair? I am thinking about trying electrolysis? I know it is pricey and takes several visits but even just seeing an improvement in the hair would make me feel better. Once I get a better job, I feel like most of my money is going to be spent on hair removal :(

I tried electrolysis...but had a weird reaction. Every time electricity went through a hair follicle, my fillings discharged a metallic taste in my mouth. Nobody else I know had this experience, and I don't know if anyone else on here had a similar reaction, but it was unpleasant enough to make me stop.
What I'm currently using is an epilator by Braun. It's a bunch of tweezers on a little cylinder that open and close at different times. The first time I used it it was as painful as all get out and did leave little red bumps behind - but did get rid of all the hair. After repeated use, it doesn't hurt any more and I don't get bumps. I've been using it for about 10 years now, and went from a couple of times a week to now once every 10 days or so.
