PCOS is a hormone imbalance. This alone affects the process of ovulation resulting in missing periods among other things. The problem with this is that if your body do not ovulate, you happen not to be fertile for that cycle, this means that the sexual drive will not be strong because there is no egg to fertilize. The "randy" feeling may be missing because of it. Some birth control have different hormones to tackle ovulation. Some of those hormones may kill sex drive. It would be advisable for your wife to go to her doctor and be open about the sex drive situation, that way the doctor can offer other kind of birth control that has a different combination of hormones that will not affect her sex drive. It make take a bit for the body to adapt to the new hormones but it should help. Changing her diet to a more PCOS friendly, low in fats and sugars, this will help her too. It will give her more energy and this will make her less stress during her day, letting her relax, less tense.
In regards of her insecurity due to the lack of sex here is somethings you can do. Let her know that YOU are AWARE that her hormone imbalance is causing this and that issue is not her fault in any way, shape or form. Her body is having some changes that are out of her control , remind her to cut her self some slack. " For better or worse. In sickness and in health." Go with her to the doctor- even if it's just in the waiting room-this will show your support. Go out of your way with this, even if you have to take time from work. I know it sounds extreme but this will show her that she is going thru this with you and that is not a women problem alone. But that is both who has PCOS. She need to have this implanted in her brain like a tattoo, This way there will be no guilt due to lack of sex while you guys are working together to get her sex drive back with the Doc's help. Something REALLY helpful is to educate as much as you can in regards of the condition, try to become an expert if you can, make an appointment with her doctor if you have too. This will help you teach her how not to be guilty about the lack sex. oh, very important, Let her know as many time as you tell her you love her that this is only a temporally situation and that things WILL get better as long as you both work as the team you are.
Having sex is important but not the main basis of marriage. Let her know that you are meeting your needs by taking care of your self. Say this lovingly and casual so she do not feel as if she is failing you as a wife. Give her the option when you decide to take care of your self to join you- this will let her know that is of her (tell her) you think about and that she can aid in your pleasure. Keep the romance alive. When you touch your self ask if you can kiss her, ask her to narrate a passionate encounter of you both or narrate a fantasy. Doing this will keep the intimate candle burning and alleviate the pressure of sex. Who knows? May be this can serve as a platform sexual trigger for her. Seeing you in pleasure, she knowing is her in your mind driving you crazy may candle her sex drive.
And last ... remind her that you know that she still want you and as long as that wanting and loving still there you could never think of a second of being without her. I hope this really helps. Good luck.
