I've been lucky these past few years in my experiences with PCOS. Sure, I've gained weight, had countless disappointments from a lack of ovulation, etc., and have been dealing with the hair growth and other minor symptoms, but I haven't had the pain that some of you have described. Well, I'm thinking that may no longer be true. Last night I woke up around 2-3am with severe pain in my lower abdomen, right in the general area of my ovaries. Both sides were giving me this intense pain that would subside if I lay still and didn't even twitch. As soon as I took a deep breath or twitched, tried adjusting my position so it was more comfortable, the pain would come back! My poor hubby woke up to me crying and got me some Motrin. I did manage to go back to sleep, but I woke up this morning extremely sore, feeling like I pulled several muscles all along my abdomen! Is this what its like for those of you who have cysts rupture on a regular basis, or could this be something else happening? I have an appt. with my GP on Feb 3 and with an endo. on Feb 4, so I will definitely bring this up with them. In the meantime, I have to try and figure out how to make it through an 8 hour shift tonight! It seems like I've been experiencing more and more headaches, pain, etc. since I started this job a few months ago. Maybe its the stress? I appreciate any input you ladies might have concerning this experience! Thanks!

Yeah thats pretty much it... my pain is like that too. I have had to buy two special pillows to prop between my legs and ankles just so I can get comfortable enough to even attempt to sleep some nights. Get a heating pad and keep using the Motrin. I hope your doctor can give you more info. Sorry you have gotten this part of the PCOS now too. :(

It definitely sucks! I'm still a bit sore, but not in pain really right now. I'm hoping it stays that way for awhile so I can sleep tonight! If the pain decides to come back, it can do so on my day off! I really do have a much greater respect for those of you who have to deal with this pain on a regular basis! You don't really understand what its like until you have it yourself, and I think I'm still fairly lucky that it only lasted the night!

Thats how I found out I had it. I had MAJOR pains, and went to the ER. They thought my apendix bursted. Turned out I had like 12 small cycsts in my right ovary and a few in my left. They measured them and I went back and they are not growing *which is a blessing* and some of them go away and new ones come back. But they stay small enough not to be a health threat, but they said it will be hard for me to concieve. They said if I lost weight, the pain should lessen and I will have more chance to concieve naturally.... so thats what Im working on. But as for the pain... sounds about right. I still go through that pain, usually about a week before my cycle and a week after. NOT FUN...

Maybe this wasn't cysts rupturing as I have now apparently been visited by AF! I counted back, it's 11-12 days which is what my cycle has showed in the times I've been charting. Maybe the stress of starting a new job and opening a new store has done a number on my cycle?
