you are on the right track and if you continue to lose weight this will help resolve the active hormone imbalance that causes PCOS, which contributes to the continued hairloss and facial hair.
once the hormones are settled you will probably need to do electrolysis to remove facial hair (it's the only method the FDA says is permanent).
if a med is working for you, don't be discouraged that you have to take a pill. and to help you get better about taking them, put them in your purse, that way you can take it whenever you need to.
for me, no med worked. i ended up having gastric bypass surgery to lose the weight after struggling for 16 yrs. now i take tons of vitamins everyday. i am only on one prescription pill. but i would do it all over again pills and all.
chin up, it will be easier for you to get through this if you acknowledge that this is just the way it is. and always remember you're so lucky a med is working for you, better than surgery, right?
good luck to you,
rochelle
I just got a prescription for Vaniqa so maybe that will help.
I've done numerous lazer hair removals and it didn't help for me, but sometimes it helps for others.
We can't change it, we just deal with it. Plus if you ever moved to a big city like SF, bearded ladies are in...lol.. :-)
They just added metformin for me (I am TTC) and now it's just like... oh well, another f'ing pill...
It may help you to get a pill minder - the boxes with a slot for each day of the week. You fill it at the beginning of the week and as you go you take one each day. I have a horrible memory so sometimes I have to check the same day to make sure I haven't already taken my pills... Also, setting the alarm on your phone. I also carry a little pill box with a few extra doses in my purse and my gym bag, in case I forget and then remember later when I am away from home.
