I voted on Saturday and my brother-in-law (state house rep) just got re-elected yipee!

The lady behind us asked Claire if she was voting and she replied "We're voting for the Elephants".

And by the way, I had to walk down to the school to vote, in SNOW!!!!

On a more serious note, here is something that another friend had to say this morning, and I really agree with it: Politics is a word worth rescuing, I believe. Rightly understood, it is the ancient and honorable work of creating a community in which the weak as well the strong can flourish, love and power can collaborate, and justice and mercy can have their day. Lets work together to create a politics worthy of the human spirit, rooted in the commonwealth of compassion and creativity still found among we the people.

I went about 7:30pm last night and I was #188. Norma, not sure about Cuomo as govenor. do you think he would be just like his father was. God, I hope not. Paladino would have been a good choice if he didn't insert his WHOLE foot in his mouth a few times. He is a prominent businessman here in WNY.

Not use to these paper ballots and putting them in the machines. I miss the voting machines where you click on your votes. oh well.

Well Jen, I'am afraid we are in for more bad days with Como. He is exactly like his father was, probably worse. Want to hear something pretty funny? His father proposed to me when I was a young woman about 22 years old. I met him at a fund raiser and he tried to sweep me off my feet, but Jim won out in the end. Thank God!!!!!! this state is crooked, always has been and always will be, as long I live anyway. Maybe you should get into politics Jen. BTW, good luck on your biopsy results, I'am praying for you honey! don't forget to keep me posted and thanks for voting.

Who you voted for aside, I would greatly prefer a paper ballot trail than the "trust me card" we take with electronic only balloting. I made my choices, the machine had me validate my choice and then push the "VOTE" button. But who knows what goes on inside the computer and who or what actually gets true credit for the vote I cast. Quite honestly, I never had a problem with butterfly ballots either; they just forced you to pay a bit more attention to what you were doing. But these no-going back computers that come with a trust me card....not buying the fact that they are free from problems or alterations).

Between you and me, even though I am democrat (just like the rest of NY is), I voted for paladino. Cuomo has too much politics. I still think Paladino would have done a better job. Not my fault that he's in office. We are definitely screwed, thats for sure. Its those damn downstate NYers who got him in. Paladino actually won in the western NY counties.

Well guys, I am way up here in snowy Alaska, and my governor won re-election. He had to take over when Sarah Palin went to be a rock star. He is a good guy, and a personal friend. He is not one for wanting all the attention like Sarah, and is calm and honest. His race was the only clean race here. I am sure you heard all over the country about our senatorial race, but thank goodness Sarah's boy didn't get in.

But aside from these folks, we have more to do to take control of our lives in our own hands one on one with the folks we come in contact with, encouraging each other, helping, and befriending. Sometimes I think that people give these leaders way more power than they deserve.

Yes, your right Jen, most of NY are Democrats. They are going to be sorry now with Como in there. Just take a look back on all our governor's we've had and what they have accomplished. This state is in worse shape than it's ever been before. It used to be a place where lots of business was done, now it's a pitiful excuse, with drugs everywhere! Frankly I don't know why we moved back here, but it is home, so I guess that important.

Want a laugh? Jim is downstairs and I am upstairs in the office. We are sending text messages back and forth because we don't know what to do tonight. It's our anniversary and it's raining awful outside. Who wants to go out in that, so anyway we are texting back and forth trying to decide what to do so that neither of us have to do anything! I guess take out would be the best, but then someone would have to go and get it...booooooo
