Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) Support Group
Polycystic kidney disease (PKD) is a progressive, genetic disorder of the kidneys. It occurs in humans and other organisms. PKD is characterised by the presence of multiple cysts (polycystic) in both kidneys. The disease can also damage the liver, pancreas and rarely the heart and brain.
It sounds like it might be a kidney infection or a cyst burst. That kind of sudden pain isn't something that should be constant.
On a related note, you should think about joining my WhatsApp group :) we have some great people there and we all support each other. It can be hard to find other young people going through this
I would echo MollyT ie it sounds like you may have an infection. I hope that by now you have seen a doctor about persisting symptoms. It’s important to treat an infection as further damage can be done if it’s not treated promptly. You will need antibiotics and if left for too long you will end up needing intravenous antibiotics. I have always had nausea as part of kidney infections and a great deal of pain. Get well soon.
You were right, turns out it is an infection!!! After I started getting a fever I went to the doctors and got antibiotics for it. Today is the first day in 2 weeks that I feel better:)
Now I know to look out for these symptoms!!
