first time ever I have been given 6 months reprieve!! A year ago, I decided to see a physician within my own group, previously have been seeing their nurse oractioner. She was probably right on the mark, but this man that I am seeing now is.... Can't think of the right word, ... An angel perhaps! He is just wonderful, the first words out of his mouth after shaking our hands with a beautiful smile on his face, is... I am pleased with your numbers, you are doing fine!! Sigh .... I have seen a lot of kidney docs in my life, but happily at the end if my life, I have been given the most wonderful man in the world! Totally engaging as most docs should be, looks us both in the eyes, straight on and tells me like it is! I have wasted so much time in my life fearing the unknown, thinking I was going to end up like all of my siblings... Dead! I have to give myself some credit though, I have been aware and done everything that I knew to be helpful, which really wasn't much, but I did all that I knew, which pretty much ended up being no Anti-inflammatory drugs, and no caffeine none! Since I discovered I had PKD at the age of 36. No caffeine in any form, lots of exercise, I really pushed myself! Never knowing if I was really doing any good. I am ready to stop worrying now! My children and grandchildren are all fine, I love everyone to pieces!

I am so grateful .... Rather than worrying myself to death, I give up totally! I have lived long enough and wasted more than enough time worrying! I am not in kidney failure, not even close, my work paid off!! As most of you know, I am a fairly old chick, enjoyed immensely never knowing that I had PKD, and when I did find out, I did all that I knew how. I am not a successful person, not even by a stretch of the imagination. I am a wife, a mother and now a grandmother. I am a loving, first and always, person. When I am confronted with obstacles, I think long and hard about what I am going to do. I am sure I have made mistakes along the way, but I never for a moment gave up hope for anything!! I will be forever grateful for the opportunity of f being a real, living friend to all the people I have met on this support group! I love you all, as I am sure you all know! I am grateful to be alive!
