No one will how you really feel, both physically and emotionally, unless they have walked in your shoes. I think that you are going to have to be very persistent with your doctors and make them understand that you really wish to be normal and able to function through your daily routine, but that there are just days that you cannot do it no matter how much you want to.

Frustration--that is what the insurance companies use to keep from paying claims and any type of disability.

Hang in there and just keep telling them how you feel.

No this is so wrong.
It's bad enough for you having to live with this constant pain without them trying to make you think that you should be back at work. My GP is completely the opposite and does not think I should be returning to work at anytime in the future. He has been harping on like this for the last 3 years and I have took no notice. Now I am on long term sick and am not in a position to reurn , maybe not for a long while yet but I know he will support me in this. I would be no use to anyone and would think that you too would be the same. What is wrong with them- I wish I could help. Julie x

Polykid I am so sorry to hear you are being badgered for your life choice to take care of yourself and not put yourself in a position to aggravate your chronic pain. My doctor is in the process of helping me obtain a medical retirement with the county. He is totally on my side and doing everything he can do. Any possibility you can change doctors? I am with Kaiser in Southern California.

Hi Sweetie, sorry I didn't see your post earlier, but Christmas and all that stuff you know how it is. Is it possible for you to go to another clinic? someone that knows more about PKD, no matter how old you are are we all know that you are just a baby, in our lives anyway. Try looking around to see what you can find and keep us posted. Remember no one understands you better than we do.

I get that...I got even and figured a way to be better - I researchd and took drastic steps to get me to 'normal' changin diet, increasin exercise, drinking lemon water, limiting alcohol...it worked; I lowered my blood pressure, kept my #s within normal. But then the last month I went back to a reg lifestyle and today I ache so bad I'm back livin that lifestyle. Find out what u need to do and do it so you feel better.
