Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) Support Group
Polycystic kidney disease (PKD) is a progressive, genetic disorder of the kidneys. It occurs in humans and other organisms. PKD is characterised by the presence of multiple cysts (polycystic) in both kidneys. The disease can also damage the liver, pancreas and rarely the heart and brain.
This morning I had to go in for my monthly labs and it is always a struggle for me after getting up in the morning, emptying my bladder to go in for my lane before I take my anti-rejections meds. I often end up "failing" the urine test because I have none, hahaha. So I usually drink green tea with lemon grass. Also every morning I drink a very large glass of water with lemon juice in it, just to alkaline my system so as not to be overcome with fungal, viral and bacterial infections with this low WBC. I am a real fan of lemon every morning. Of course I am always a low salt fan which I am sure you already are as well, and careful with the uric acid in foods.
I hope that helps, and I sure am sorry that you are going through this.
Blessings
Heather
Take care.
I have found a detailed post on natural diuretics at http://medlicker.com/743-diuretic-foods-and-recipes
They talk about 50 common diuretic foods and describe their effects, including cautionary statements. There are also 10 recipes for drinks and salads, which may be helpful.
But always remember to talk to your doctor first and do not try anything before getting an approval from your physician.
