Polycystic kidney disease (PKD) is a progressive, genetic disorder of the kidneys. It occurs in humans and other organisms. PKD is characterised by the presence of multiple cysts (polycystic) in both kidneys. The disease can also damage the liver, pancreas and rarely the heart and brain.
Yes, I miss Ruth's guidance. she really helped me understand this disease we have. When I first joined our support group, I was in a panic like the rest of the newbies on here. Ruth (and you :) ) took me under her wing and told me it isn't the end of the world. She sent me articles on my personal email list and shared her excel spreadsheet so I can put my blood test #'s on. Explained to me what to expect and gave me solid advice. To this day, I feel like I have a level head about this disease process. I also helped her when one of her family members had breast cancer.
I know about our rain we are getting. It sure is depressing - I am the same way. I even went to bed at 8:50pm last night. Hey! The sun's out now and its extremely stuffy here in the office.
