I learned today that the RH factor doesn't matter when it comes down to donation, and because I have AB negative blood, I can receive a donor from anyone!!!! I never knew this before! It's too late for me now, but I have children with the same blood type and factor, at least I can have hope for them! Am so grateful for this information. Lots of love, Norma ...

That's good news. I don't think I knew that either.

Yes, living so far away from my transplant center, I just have a very hard time getting any communication from them... and maybe there are new things coming out that I just don't know. Of course my issue is as well for my daughter.

I read on a kidney foundation site that it's never too late for a kidney transplant. Someone who was 90 had one. Personally I don't want one. I didn't know that about the RH factor either. I don't know my blood type, all I know is that my mom was RH negative and there was worry that I wouldn't live to term (in 1951) so maybe I'm negative as well.
